Each child at Navarupantar Home has unique needs. That’s why our Home includes different activities.
Most of arrive at our Home in a pitiful condition those are orphan, abandoned, surrendered, rejection, abuse and unimaginable hardships with disabilities. Several have serious medical conditions that require immediate attention. At the Home we nurture, feed, clothe, comfort and medically treat them to the best of our capacities. The children with sickness, diseases, health check-upare carryout by health professionals in FRU, Doomdooma, Tinsukia Civil Hospital, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh etc. It is really pains us to turn new entrants away for lack of infrastructure. We are approaching generous stakeholders to help us remedy this situation.
This process is a lifelong one. As our children recover or rescue from different places of the state, the Child Welfare Committee, Tinsukia transfers the child to our Home immediately. With medical and psychiatric care, physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy, special education, and vocational training, we encourage them to participate socially at their own pace. Our staff set goals for them and each child is individually assessed and evaluated. Depending on their ability, disability and physical condition, the children are put in to early intervention, primary education and vocational programs. They are trained in vocational careers such as the making of paper bags, embroidery, sewing, flower making, drawing and painting etc. we try to make them as self-reliant as they can be, and they begin to gain a sense of purpose as they start contributing to society.
We believe that a family set-up is the best environment for a child to grow up in
and develop. So, we make attempt to trace a child family and try and re-unite the
child with them.
Navarupantar Home for Special Need Children is a home for children with disabilities
